Rights and Responsibilities of Students with Disabilities

Every student with a disability at TED University has the following rights:

- Reasonable access to and assistance from the TEDU Without Barriers, which strives to eliminate disabilities and provide equal access and education,
- Students have equal access to courses, programs, services and activities offered through the University.

Each student with a disability at TED University has the following responsibilities:

- Meet the same qualifications and academic standards expected of all TED University students. To communicate with the TEDU Without Barriers office to request accommodations and follow their procedures.
- Provide the required document(s) demonstrating the disability at the beginning of the semester or immediately after the disability is identified and accommodations are provided, and notify the faculty in a timely manner of the accommodations required.
- If the authorization and accommodations granted to a student with a disability are terminated by the student or if the student drops a course for which special accommodations have been made, the TEDU Without Barriers office must immediately be notified.

Rights and Responsibilities of the TEDU Without Barriers

The TEDU Without Barriers  has the following rights:

- Request and receive necessary and current information that supports the student's requests for academic adjustments and/or the aids and services they will receive.
- To deny a request if the student's disability information does not relate or reflect a connection between the disability and the requested assistance.


The responsibilities of the TEDU Without Barriers are as follows:

- To provide or arrange for reasonable accommodations, academic adjustments and/or auxiliary aids and services for students with disabilities in courses, programs, services and activities,
- To protect the confidentiality of all disability-related information provided to the TEDU Without Barriers, except where permitted or required by the KVKK (personal data protection law in Turkey) or where the student gives consent/permission for such information to be shared,
- Responsibly advocate for the needs of students with disabilities within the campus community and help students develop skills for self-advocacy.
